Open up the space between your kitchen and outdoor area with an OpenUp® pass-through window.
Our windows create a wide opening for serving food, passing drinks, and connecting your kitchen with a patio, outdoor bar, pool house, or entertaining space. When the window opens, the sash moves above the opening, leaving the counter below clear and usable.
Choose from standard window sizes or custom dimensions to suit your Frisco project. Available options include different glass configurations, sill arrangements, mounting features, and an optional Pleated Screen.
Our gas-strut windows use a top-hinged awning design that opens upward to 90 degrees.
The gas struts support the sash in its fully open position, leaving the area below available for serving and passing items between spaces. This design works well for kitchen counters, outdoor kitchens, bars, pool houses, and other residential or commercial pass-through applications.
The standard gas-strut system is designed to remain fully closed or open to 90 degrees. If your project requires adjustable opening positions, the optional Motorized Strut Upgrade allows you to stop the window at a selected position.
Our pass-through windows combine Accoya® wood on the interior with structural extruded aluminum on the exterior.
Accoya® wood is known for its dimensional stability, durability, and paint retention. OpenUp® uses it as part of a hybrid frame designed to combine the characteristics of wood with the structural benefits of aluminum.
The extruded aluminum forms part of the window’s structure rather than simply acting as a thin decorative exterior covering. This construction also helps maintain narrow sightlines around the glass.
OpenUp Windows combines a wide pass-through opening with durable materials, custom sizing, and several operating options.
Our custom aluminum extrusions help reduce visible framing around the glass. OpenUp® states that its design provides 33% more view when the window is closed, helping preserve sightlines between indoor and outdoor spaces.
OpenUp® custom pass-through windows typically ship within 4–6 weeks after the final dimensions and configuration are confirmed. This is the stated shipping timeframe, not a guaranteed delivery date.
Choose from available standard configurations or request custom dimensions for an opening that requires a different size. This flexibility helps you plan your window around your project’s measurements.
The standard insulated glass unit is 1 inch thick and consists of two 3/16-inch tempered glass panes separated by a 5/8-inch air space.
You don’t have to permanently screen the opening to get insect protection when you need it.
Our retractable OpenUp® Pleated Screen can be used when needed and moved out of the way when you want full access through the window.
The Pleated Screen offers:
Adding a screen during the ordering process allows you to consider insect protection alongside your preferred window dimensions and configuration.
You can begin with one of our standard window sizes or request custom dimensions when your project requires something different.
Our online pricing process allows you to select a size, explore available options, and review pricing that includes freight costs. A detailed proposal provides the information needed to move forward.
Before ordering, measure both the interior and exterior of the opening. Check the countertop height, the relationship between indoor and outdoor surfaces, and the available space for the window. You should also consider the glass package, sill configuration, mounting requirements, and optional Pleated Screen.
Our Customer Service resources provide measurement guidance, while our technical resources cover window dimensions, sill options, and mounting details.
Our custom pass-through windows are manufactured to order according to the confirmed dimensions and selected configuration.
Once the size and options are finalized, custom windows typically ship within 4–6 weeks, regardless of size.
OpenUp® ships its windows by freight with tailgate delivery. Make arrangements for people to be available to unload the window and move it to the required location at your job site.

We are so happy with our gas strut window. Adam was wonderful to work with. He was very knowledgeable and answered all of our questions and we had alot. Our window was shipped to Florida in a crate that was very secure and came with step by step instructions on how to remove it. It was easy to install. This is a very well made product. Openup Windows definitely takes pride in there work and that is very hard to find these days. We are so happy we decided to purchase from this company. And the window arrived on my Anniversary which made it even more special. Thank you Adam!!![]()

We purchased a 96 x 42 inch window with a 96 x 12 inch transom push out window for the bar in our new 3 season room. The window looks amazing and is the center piece of the room. I spoke with Adam several times during the process and he made me feel very comfortable with this purchase. Adam even drove to our home and helped with the installation. I highly recommend OpenUp windows.![]()

We are delighted with our OpenUp window. It has transformed how we use our indoor and ourdoor spaces and really allows us to enjoy our kitchen in a way we couldn't previously. It's early days, but we're delighted with the quality of the product and the price was definitely more reasonable than some of the competition out there. If you're looking for a window that will allow you to bridge the gap between your kitchen and patio/deck, I would definitely recommend you look into OpenUp.![]()
