Our frame combines structural extruded aluminum with Accoya® wood.
The aluminum is a structural part of the window rather than simply a thin exterior covering. On the interior side, we use Accoya® wood as part of the same hybrid frame system.
Accoya® is used by OpenUp® for its dimensional stability, durability, and resistance to weather and pest damage.

Our custom aluminum extrusions and narrow sightlines reduce the amount of visible frame around the glass. Our design provides 33% more view when the window is closed, helping create a larger visible glass area.
We use extruded aluminum as a structural part of the window. It is not simply a thin layer wrapped around a conventional wood window. The aluminum forms part of the hybrid frame and is combined with Accoya® wood on the interior.
Accoya® wood is used on the interior side of our hybrid frame. It has been tested for dimensional stability, durability, and paint retention and is identified by OpenUp® as PEFC and FSC certified.
We offer standard-size pass-through windows as well as custom dimensions. If your Fort Worth project requires a different opening size, the window can be designed to the selected project configuration.
A pass-through needs to remain an active opening, so a fixed screen is not always practical.
Our OpenUp® Pleated Screen is retractable. You can use it for insect protection when needed and move it away when you want full access to the opening.
