Early Life & Career
Ed Page is an inventor and entrepreneur with a degree in industrial engineering from North Carolina State University. What separates Ed from many inventors is that he has been manufacturing and selling his inventions as finished products for the world’s most discriminating customers for over 40 years.
Ed’s career of innovation spans over 5 decades from 1972 and continues to this day.
As a young man Ed worked for his father’s window company, so a few years into Ed’s career he got the itch to manufacture his own window and received his first US Patent for a better storm window.
Entrepreneurship & Innovation
By the year 2000, having been the exclusive Hope’s Steel Window sales/installation engineer for the New York Tri-State area for several years, he developed Megawood Windows and Doors that had very thin sightlines like steel windows but with greater thermal insulating properties.
This innovative product made use of structural glazing, allowing for the first insulated glass operable doors 20 feet tall and pivot doors 10 feet wide all with very narrow sightlines. This led to the development of an insulated bronze window system called Infinity Bronze, featuring solid bronze exterior with mahogany interiors and modern European hardware.
One trend in New York City at the turn of the century was for the wealthy to purchase the top floor and roof rights of a New York City building (many in SOHO) and build a magnificent penthouse with spectacular city views. The city’s top architects including IM Pei, Maya Lin, Robert AM Stern and Michael Graves all worked with Ed to create magnificent feature windows for their A-list clientele.

In 2020, embracing the “bring the outdoors in” trend sweeping the country, Ed re-invented the kitchen pass-through, gas-strut window that has changed the way people enjoy their homes.
It is believed that the trend began in California with a gas-strut window developed by Flip-Out Windows. The trend accelerated during the pandemic and now there are several specialty manufacturers producing this lifestyle-changing product.
